Baseball Falls in Series Finale at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. - UNF baseball created an early lead once again, but Kennesaw State rallied and went ahead with a big seventh inning as the Ospreys dropped another slugfest to the Owls, 13-9, Sunday, March 27.
North Florida (9-15, 1-5 ASUN) established a 7-0 lead, posting crooked numbers in the first and second. KSU (16-7, 6-0 ASUN) chipped away with runs in the fourth and fifth before vaulting ahead in the seventh behind seven runs in the frame.Â

Behind the Line Score
- UNF jumped on the Owls in the first, scoring four runs. North Florida walked three times, KSU made a costly error on a potential double play ball and Trey Spratling-Williams tagged a two-RBI single. Dallen Leach plated Cade Westbrook with a beautiful squeeze bunt, giving UNF a 4-0 lead.
- A bases loaded throwing error by KSU's Tyler Simon on a chopper to short allowed UNF to plate two with two outs. Aidan Sweatt took off on a dirt ball, issuing a throw down to second that went wide, allowing UNF to score another from third.
- KSU responded with a flurry of hits in the second. The Owls scored four on five hits and an error to get within 7-4.
- After a few scoreless half innings, KSU's Nick Colina hit a solo home run in the fourth.
- The Owls got one run closer. Donovan Cash doubled Zac Corbin to third and Cash Young scored him with an RBI groundout.
- KSU exploded for seven runs in the seventh, concluding with a Corbin grand slam to put KSU ahead, 13-7.
- Abraham Sequera worked the count and launched a two-run home run to right from the left side of the dish in the ninth before KSU closed it out.
