CHARLESTON, S.C - The Citadel scored early and North Florida baseball was held off the scoreboard until the sixth inning as the Ospreys fell in midweek baseball at The Citadel, 8-1, Tuesday, March 29.

Both teams used seven pitchers in North Florida's first non-conference affair outside the Sunshine State. UNF (9-17) was held without a walk and the Ospreys fanned 10 Bulldog (17-7) batters as the game lasted just under two and a half hours.

Cade Westbrook extended his on-base streak to 13 games, Caleb Stafford made his season debut and Ian Brown started his first contest of the year.

Behind the Line Score

Some first inning miscues hurt UNF as The Citadel scored two via a walk, bunt single and a pair of errors in the infield.
The Citadel expanded its lead with three runs in the third coming on a leadoff walk, four hits and a sac fly.
A two-out two-RBI double to right allowed The Citadel to score two more in the fourth.
Tyler Gerteisen got UNF on the board in the sixth, ripping a two-out RBI single through the right side to score Brock Edge after he reached on a one-out double to right.
Another two-out hit plated a Bulldog in the sixth, making it 8-1 for the hosts.
UNF was held scoreless in each of the next three innings.
