TOURNAMENT NOTEBOOK
- This will be the fourth all-time appearance at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate in Hawaii.
- The Ospreys have previously played in Hawaii in 2014, 2016 and 2018, with their best team finish being the runner-up in both 2014 and 2018.
- All six players will be traveling to compete in Hawaii for the first time, as Cody Carroll was on the roster in their last appearance but was not in the starting lineup.
- It will be the first par-71 course that they've played on the year after playing par-70 and par-72 courses earlier this fall.
- This is the second consecutive season that the Ospreys are playing a tournament outside of the continental United States after competing at the Nexus Championship in New Providence, Bahamas, last season.
- UNF has its sights set on starting their season with five consecutive top-five team finishes, which would be the first time that it has happened since the 2011-12 season.
- Nick Gabrelcik will also be looking for his third consecutive top-two placement among the field after finishing as the runner-up at Quail Valley and was the co-individual champion at Isleworth.
- The projected team lineup will include three juniors, a senior and a graduate.
- The tournament field consists of 20 teams, which is the most UNF has seen this season.
- Nine teams are ranked among Golfstat's top 75 teams highlighted by No. 11 Oklahoma and No. 20 Georgia.
- The Ospreys will be the only team in Hawaii from the state of Florida and joins Liberty as one of two ASUN teams in the event.
- The event will start on Friday, Oct. 28, and will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 30, with one round of 18 holes played on each day.
- It is only the second time out of five tournaments this fall that the Ospreys will play an event over a span of three days.
- UNF will tee off at 8 a.m. HST, which will be 2 p.m. EST, with a shotgun start for each of the three rounds.
FROM THE 19TH HOLE
- Nick Gabrelcik followed up his record-breaking performance at Quail Valley with another remarkable week on the links with a share of his seventh-career medalist crown at the Isleworth Collegiate. He scored 10-under 206 with two rounds at 5-under 67 to now have three top-10 placements in four events this fall.
- Robbie Higgins had a rough start in the opening round at UCF earlier this week but scored back-to-back rounds under par to get himself inside the top 30 individuals at the Isleworth Collegiate. He now leads the team with eight rounds under par in 12 rounds played on the season.
- Davis Lee placed tied for 32nd after recording one round under par at UCF to build on his season average of 72.17 per round. He will look to finish the season strong in search of his second top-10 finish of the season in Hawaii.
- Lance Yates scored 3-over 147 in the final two rounds at UCF, including his first round under par this fall. He will make the trip out to Hawaii looking to put his second top-25 finish in the fall under his belt.
- Cody Carroll was a late add to the UNF lineup at the Isleworth Collegiate and scored 11-over 227 on the week. He will join Gabrelcik, Higgins and Lee after this weekend as the only Osprey golfers to compete in all five fall tournaments.
- Cooper Smith will also join the Osprey lineup in Hawaii as an unattached individual. He has only played in two events in the fall but has the third-best scoring average on the team, below Gabrelcik and Higgins, at 71.83 per round.
