TOURNAMENT NOTEBOOK
- This will be the sixth all-time appearance and their first showing at the Quail Valley Collegiate since 2019.
- Played from 2014-2016, as well as 2018 & 2019, with two team titles in 2014 and 2018.
- Their latest appearance in 2019 was a top-four placement at 33-under 831.
- In 2019, both Davis Lee and Cody Carroll competed at the meet, as Davis posted a top-five finish at 11-under 205.
- This will be their second par-72 event played this season after coming off a par-70 course at Northwestern.
- The projected team lineup for this week will include a sophomore, two juniors, a senior and a graduate player.
- The tournament field consists of 13 of the 16 teams within Golfstat's top 100 teams, as six teams sit inside the top 50.
- There are also nine Power Five teams at the meet, as well as Liberty, who is a familiar ASUN opponent.
- UNF starts the event playing the first and second rounds on Sunday, Oct. 16, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
- The event will finish on Monday, Oct. 17, with the Ospreys wrapping up the final round with tee times starting at 8 a.m. off the first and 10th holes.
FROM THE 19TH HOLE
- Nick Gabrelcik recorded a top-10 finish in the team's fall debut event, but fell just outside the top 25 in their last tournament at Northwestern. The back-to-back ASUN Men's Golfer of the Year looks to get back to form in the team's return in the state of Florida.
- Robbie Higgins had his best career tournament at the Windon Memorial Classic after recording 6-under with two rounds in the 60s to take home his first medalist crown as an Osprey. The junior aims to repeat his success early this week in Vero Beach.
- Davis Lee has played in both meets at Duke and Northwestern with solid event scores for each tournament. He has averaged a score of 73 per round with one round under par and his lowest score at even-par 70 in the second round at Northwestern.
- Cooper Smith makes his first appearance as a part of the Ospreys' score this week after playing well in the Windon Memorial Classic a couple weeks ago. He placed as the 13th-overall individual at Northwestern and will be playing in his third career tournament under the team's score.
- Cody Carroll rounds out the Osprey group at the Quail Valley Collegiate, as the fifth-year senior is ready to make improvements against top-tier competition. Carroll joins Gabrelick as the only two UNF golfers to have all six rounds count towards the team score through both fall meets.
