Lefty Spins 8.0 Innings of One-Run Ball, Sequera a Double Shy of the Cycle

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tony Roca was one out shy of a complete game, Abraham Sequera was just a double short of the cycle and Blake Marabell robbed a home run in UNF's 8-5 series-opening win against Jacksonville Friday, April 23.

The Ospreys also tagged JU pitching for two home runs as UNF (12-16, 6-4 ASUN) won its fourth game against the Dolphins (7-24, 0-10 ASUN) this season.

North Florida led 8-1 heading into the top of the ninth before JU got the tying run to the plate. Righty Brandon Reitz notched the final out for a one-out save.

Behind the Line Score

Sequera belted an opposite field solo home run over the scoreboard in left for a 1-0 lead in the first.
Marabell scaled the wall in center and robbed a home run off the bat of Duncan Hunter in the second. Marabell made the play after making a dead sprint to the wall.
Sequera stayed hot in the third, hooking an RBI triple inside first base to score Isaiah Byars from first with two outs.
JU got on the board in the sixth, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Two singles, a sac bunt and RBI groundout scored one.
A wild play in the sixth allowed UNF to take a 3-1 lead. After consecutive singles from Sequera and Alex Kachler, Blake Marabell skied a foul out to right. Right fielder Duncan Hunter air mailed his throw to third, allowing Sequera to score.
Three hits, two stolen bags and a hit by pitch allowed UNF to take a 6-1 lead in the seventh. Sequera laced an RBI single, while Kachler drove in two with a base knock through the left side.
Austin Bogart unloaded for his third home run in four games, a two-run shot to left for an 8-1 lead in the eighth.
Jacksonville cut UNF's lead to 8-5 in the ninth on three hits and two errors. Reitz got a game-ending groundout to get the save and seal the win for Roca and the Ospreys.
