COACH JEFF PIGG REMARKS
"Audrey (Carpenter) closed out her steeplechase career with a nice third place finish. She competed well and didn't let the fatigue cause her to settle. She continued to push herself and finish well. Freshman Grace Gumpel also had a nice race. She has done some nice things this year and learning to run the steeplechase is a process and Audrey has helped her along the way. She will have some nice steeple races in her future. Camryn Cooney finished up in sixth with a nice debut in the 10,000m. Tonight was a learning process and she handled the situation well. Twenty-five laps is a long way and she did well and has a strong future in the event."Â
