COACH JEFF PIGG REMARKS
"Lydia (van Dijk) ran a tough race in the 1500m. She has not been able to train since spraining her ankle badly a few weeks ago. She was finally able to jog this week so to finish third showed talent and toughness. She capped off a very good freshman year. Audrey Carpenter also closed out a great career hanging on for sixth in the race. She has done so much for this program. Syd Steele continued to learn her new event the 800m with another very good race. She put herself in good position and ran smart. Next year she will be able to close the deal. I enjoy watching her compete and I know she has a great future. Skye Zeller finished sixth adding another point to the total. The highlight for us today was how Jade (Sullivan) and Crystal (Liebenberg) competed getting second and third in the 400m hurdles. They ran as we expected because they prepared so well and compete hard. They have greatly inproved over the year and it was so nice to see them rewarded with such great performances. These two have been focused on this day all year long. Our 4x4 relay squad broke the school record by two tenths. Crystal, Syd. Jenn and Jade gave all they had left to finish with the record. It was a great culmination of a years worth of work and it was very rewarding to see them come together with such a good performance. I am very proud of how well they did. What a great way to finish off the meet."
