JACKSONVILLE - North Florida softball takes a break from ASUN play to host in-state for Florida A&M on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the UNF Softball Complex.

TEAM NOTES
- North Florida is coming off of a 1-2 weekend against Kennesaw State, ending it on a high note with a 2-0 win on Sunday.
- The Ospreys continue to rank third in batting average (.282) in the ASUN, just behind Kennesaw State (.285) and Liberty (.283).
- After the weekend, junior Rindy Bryant is on a three-game hit streak, while Makeznie Griffin has reached base in three straight as well.
- Senior Dominica Cocuzza moved to 77th in the country with her .410 average and leads the conference. She is third in the league with 30 RBI.
- Classmate Navia Penrod ranks eighth in the conference with 39 hits. In league-only play, Penrod is third with a .444 average and fifth with 12 hits.
- Pitcher Sydney Matzko currently owns a 10-7 mark to sit fifth in wins. She is eighth with 69 strikeouts on the season and sixth in ASUN-only play.
RECORD WATCH
- Penrod is chasing the ASUN career record (285) held by UCF's Stephanie Best as she has 255 on the season.
- Classmate Dominica Cocuzza is chasing a few records of her own including doubles and RBI. She needs nine doubles to tie the school record held by Kelly Lee. Currently sitting at 119 RBI, Cocuzza is 24 behind Gwen Williams (2005-08) who has 143 for her career. Cocuzza currently has 30 on the season.
- Matzko is currently trying to break the top 10 strikeout list. She has 211 and needs 17 to take the 10th spot in just two seasons of work with UNF.
SERIES HISTORY
- North Florida leads the series 18-9 and the teams have split the last six meetings.Â
- In 2017, when the two teams faced off in Jacksonville, the game went to 15 innings with UNF getting the walk-off 9-8 victory. It was the longest game in UNF history.
- The Ospreys are 8-1 at home against the Rattlers.

LOOKING AHEAD
North Florida stays at home to host ASUN-leader, Liberty, on Saturday and Sunday. The doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday before a single game at the same time the next day.
