JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball shut out the visiting Kennesaw State Owls, 2-0, on Sunday to close out the league series.

How it Happened:

It took just one swing of the bat from Tiffany Lower to give the Ospreys (21-14, 4-5 ASUN) the 1-0 lead in the first. Lower sent the first pitch from Hailey Andrews right over the center field fence.
North Florida added to its lead in the second when a single and an error put two on with one out. Taylor Engman than singled to left field to bring home Rindy Bryant for the 2-0 lead.
Sydney Matzko and the Osprey defense were able to keep Kennesaw State (22-19, 7-5 ASUN) at bay even though the Owls threatened in the fifth and seventh innings.

NOTES

It was the fifth shut out of the season for the Ospreys.
Bryant is currently on a three-game hit streak which is her longest of the season.
Makenzie Griffin reached base twice due to being hit-by-pitch.
It is the sixth time this season the North Florida has scored 3 or 2 runs and won.
