JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. - The College of Charleston (3-0) edged UNF (5-2) by the slimmest of margins and Carolyn Cain and Blaire Register earned the victory in Bracket A of the pairs play.

Marisa Rogers and Carleigh Semeniuk fell at the five slot, just their second loss of the season. Callie Workman and Dana Roskic evened the match at one, prevailing 15-11 in the third set.

The duo of Nicole DeBolt and Jessi Freeman tied it up at 2-2 after Charleston's McKala Rhodes and Devon Rachel downed Brittay Pase and Madilyn McCarty in straight sets at the number two slot.

Tied 2-2, the match came down to Kennedy Madison and Lauren Freed for the Cougars and Chaney Howard and Antonia Harrison at the top position. Charleston nabbed the clincher, 22-20, 21-14.

In pairs play, the duo of Carolyn Cain and Blaire Register won the Bracket A Championship, topping UNF's Sydni Small and Kirby Smith before beating UNC Wilmington's number-six pair.

"I'm proud of our team. We were points away from sweeping the weekend and it was a nailbiter against Charleston. This week we had to make a pair of team switches and the girls stepped up. Dana and Callie had a tremendous weekend going 3-0. We'll be getting back to work this week as we prepare to go to St. Petersburg." -- Head coach Kristen Wright.

More tournament play is on the slate next weekend. The Ospreys go to St. Petersburg, Fla., for the Eckerd College Battle on the Bay where they'll play Arizona State, Eckerd College, Tampa and Saint Leo.

Senior Chaney Howard is still tied with Courtney Miller in all-time victories (61).
UNF and the College of Charleston are 4-4 against one another in series history.
