Beach Upends No. 19 TCU, Sweeps Florida Southern to Open Season

BOCA RATON, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball opened its slate with a pair of victories including a thrilling upset of No. 19 TCU in the second match of the day on day one of Paradise at the Burrow.

Notes:

The No. 4 and 5 pairs won their pairs in both matches. In the No. 5 spot, Marisa Rogers and Carleigh Semeniuk grabbed straight set victories including allowing just 11 total points against Florida Southern.
At the No. 4 spot, Callie Workman and Dana Roskic also won in straight sets. The pair shutdown the Horned Frogs, 21-16, 21-15 to help UNF get the 2-1 lead against TCU.
The top pair of Antonia Harrison and Chaney Howard battled to a three-set victory in the second match of the day to push the Ospreys past the nationally-ranked TCU team.
North Florida has now won five of the last seven season openers.
It was UNF's first win against a ranked opponent since defeating No. 9 Stetson, 3-2, March 23, 2016.
