
Women’s Tennis Hosts Georgia State, Travels to USF This Weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- UNF will host Georgia State Friday before concluding the weekend in Tampa when it faces USF in continuation of the non-conference slate.

Last Time Out
- North Florida downed Georgia Southern and Florida A&M with a pair of 4-0 wins to sweep the season-opening doubleheader January 19 at the UNF Tennis Complex.
- Six different Ospreys picked up singles victories and three different doubles pairs added wins.

- In its last 20 matches at home the Ospreys are 15-5.
- The last time that UNF had a losing record at home was in 2009.
- Against Our Opponents
- This is only the third meeting between UNF and Georgia State. The series is tied 1-1, with the Panthers taking the last meeting 5-2 in Atlanta March 12, 2012. UNF shut out Georgia State 9-0 in 1984.
- USF holds an 8-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Ospreys picked up a 4-3 win in Tampa March 7, 2015. The Bulls secured a 4-2 win in Jacksonville a year ago.

- UNF returns five from last year's roster, including its 2017-18 leader in wins, Lucia Montano (21).
- Women's tennis added Clemson transfer Constanza Gorches and Brazilian Ana Paula Melilo in the summer before welcoming Sean Lodzki from Tel Aviv, Israel, earlier this month.
ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll
The North Florida Women's Tennis program was tied for the top spot in the 2019 ASUN Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches poll, receiving 57 overall points and four first place votes. It was the second time in as many years that UNF has been knotted atop the preseason coaches poll.
