CONFER COMMENTS
"It was a great win for us today. I thought the girls dug deep. We had a lot of opportunities but never gave up and kept pounding away and pounding away. One thing I'm really proud of is how we've gone to the bench and had players step up. Brandi (Walker) got in for the last 10 minutes of the game and she made a difference and scored the game winning goal. We tell the girls that they have to be ready for their moment because they never know when that moment is going to come. We put Brandi in because one of her strengths is scoring goals in and around the box and that's exactly what she did for us today. We had some girls give us a lift in the first half as well. It's important for us to continue to use and develop our depth. I like the fight in this team and how they didn't give up or put their heads down and eventually were able to get a ball in the back of the net. They deserved this win and I'm very proud of them. Give Asheville credit for fighting hard all day and battling us tough. Overall, it was a good result and now we turn our attention to next weekend. " - Head coach Robin Confer
