Kennesaw, Ga. – The North Florida baseball team fell to Kennesaw State, 3-2, on Friday night at Stillwell Stadium in ASUN play.
LEADING OFF
- Four Ospreys had base hits in the contest with Chris Berry and Jay Prather driving in the lone runs for UNF.
- Frank German threw his first career complete game while matching a season-high with nine strikeouts.
- Prather has now reached base safely in 20 straight games, while Berry and Tanner Murphy extended their streaks to 12 in a row.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ospreys got the offense going first in the third inning when after a Raff Libunao double down the left field, Berry's RBI single to right gave UNF a 1-0 lead.
- The Owls responded with two in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead.
- In the sixth, UNF after an Alex Reynolds walk and Rey Gonzalez reached on an error, Prather went the other way with an RBI single to left to make it a tie game at two.
- Kennesaw State though responded with a run in the bottom of the seventh to give them a 3-2 series opening win.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Ospreys continue their weekend series against Kennesaw State with a 12 p.m. doubleheader tomorrow to conclude the series.
