
Ospreys Continue Busy Week In NC

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball continues a busy week on the sand as it travels to the UNCW Beach Classic in Wilmington, N.C. The Ospreys face Webber International, Carson-Newman, College of Charleston and the host Seahawks.
WEEKEND SCHEDULE
BEACH BULLETS
- With the win in the first match on Wednesday over Jacksonville, UNF Beach Volleyball picked up its 100th program win in just seven years of the program's history.
- Freshman Carolyn Cain carries a team-high 10 wins into play on Friday which includes wins in five of her last six matches paired with freshman Casey Justice.
- Junior Courtney Miller has 52 career wins after a pair of wins at the No.1 position against JU. She's five wins away from breaking the program record set by Cameron McGuire who played at UNF from 2012-15.
- The Ospreys carry a four match win streak into Friday's action. It's the longest win streak for UNF since last April when the team won five in a row.
- Taryn Griffey and Chaney Howard clinched the second match against Jacksonville in the No. 2 spot. With the wins, Howard moved into tie for fifth place in school history with 48 wins.
- Griffey and Howard lead the Ospreys as a pair with nine victories
-This is the fourth time that the Ospreys face a team for the first time in school history when they battle Carson-Newman on Friday. North Florida is 2-1 in its previous three first time matchups.

LOOKING AHEAD
North Florida continues ASUN play when it returns to Jacksonville next Friday to battle Coastal Carolina and Mercer at Dolphin Beach. First serve against Coastal is slated for 9 a.m. before facing Mercer at 1 p.m. The Ospreys will play the same two teams on Saturday as well.

- The Warriors enter with a 5-9 record after a going 1-1 on Wednesday against Lincoln Memorial and Saint Leo.
- Webber's top two duos won both of it's matches against St. Leo and Lincoln Memorial.
- UNF already owns a 4-1 victory over Webber which the Ospreys earned the opening week of the season at Webber.
CARSON-NEWMAN (0-3)
- Carson-Newman enters its second weekend of play in Wilmington after going 0-3 last time out.
- The Eagles had two of their pairs grab a win last time out.
- Friday's matchup is the first all-time meeting for UNF and Carson Newman on the sand.
COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON (9-6)
- After starting the season 9-6, Charleston is 20th in the latest AVCA poll.
- Allison Beckman and Lauren Freed lead the Cougars with a 10-5 record playing primarily out of the No. 4 spot.
- UNF won 3-2 last season against CofC in April of 2017 and have taken four of six prior meetings with the Cougars.
UNCW (10-7)
- The Seahawks come into the weekend with a 10-7 mark after a pair of 4-1 wins over FGCU and UAB.
- At the No. 1 spot, Maddy Kline and Nicole Lott own a record of 11-6.
- UNF has a 2-1 advantage over UNCW in the all-time series as the two teams have traded wins in the prior three meetings.
