Ospreys Sweep Dolphins To Open ASUN Play

JACKSONVILLE- The North Florida beach volleyball team dominated its crosstown rivals from start to finish in route to a pair of 5-0 shutouts on Wednesday to open ASUN play at Dolphin Beach.Â

Beach Bullets
- The reigning ASUN Pair of the Week, senior Carina Hoff and junior Courtney Miller battled back from a set down in match number two and sealed the Ospreys second 5-0 sweep. With the wins, Miller moved into solo third in program history with her 52nd career victory.
- Carolyn Cain paired with Casey Justice in the No. 5 spot and Madilyn McCarty and Nicole DeBolt played at No. 4 with both duos picking up a pair of wins.
- In the No. 3 position, junior Brittany Pase and freshman Callie Workman grabbed a pair of wins including a three-set comeback win in the second match of the day.Â
- Sophomore Taryn Griffey and junior Chaney Howard, paired at the No. 2 position, picked up the clinching point in the second match after a straight set win earlier in the day. The tandem picked up their team leading ninth wins on Wednesday.
- With the win in the first match on Wednesday, UNF Beach Volleyball picked up its 100th program win in just seven years of the program's history.Â
- UNF has now won each of its last nine meetings against Jacksonville and taken 19 of 21 overall meetings.
