Ospreys Travel To Atlanta For Weekend Matches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida returns to the sand this weekend in Atlanta at the Diggin Duals. The two-day tournament is at Georgia State University as the Ospreys face Mercer, ULM, Jacksonville State and the host Panthers.

NOTEABLES
- The Ospreys received votes in the latest AVCA poll.
- Last time out for the Ospreys, Taryn Griffey and Chaney Howard, paired at the No. 2 position, picked up a three-set win over Jacksonville. It was the duos' fourth win of the season which is tied for the team lead.
- In the No. 4 position, freshmen Carolyn Cain and Blaire Register are a perfect 3-0, tying Griffey and Howard for the most wins by an Osprey pair.
- Junior Courtney Miller has 47 career wins and needs just two to move into fourth place. She's also nine wins away from tying the program record set by Cameron McGuire who played at UNF from 2012-15.
- The Ospreys are just four wins away from 100 in program history in just the seventh year of the program as UNF is 96-53. Â
-This is the first of three meetings the Ospreys and Bears have on the regular season schedule. The two teams meet at Jacksonville on April 6-7 for a pair of ASUN matches. Â

- The Bears enter with a 5-4 record after a 1-3 weekend in Birmingham at the Blazer Beach Duals
- Mercer closed the weekend out with a 3-2 win over Austin Peay.
- Kylie Keeling and Elli Merchant went 2-0 against UAB and Austin Peay.
- UNF won 5-0 last time out against Mercer in April of 2017 and have taken 13 of 15 prior meetings from the Bears.
GEORGIA STATE (12-5)
- Georgia State is ninth in the latest AVCA poll.
- At the No. 1 spot, Teegan Van Gunst and Tiffany Creamer have a a record of 9-4
- Annika Van Gunst and Brooke Weiner own a team best mark of 10-3 in the No. 2 spot.
- Georgia State has taken each of the prior six meetings from the Ospreys including a 5-0 shutout last year.
 ULM (5-6)
- ULM comes into play with a 5-6 record after dropping all three of its matches at the Blazer Beach Duals last week.
- At the No. 2 and No. 3 respectively, the pairs of Catherine Griffin and Becca Brown as well as Maile Sellers and Kayla Gallant grabbed wins over No. 17 Tulane.
- UNF has a slim 3-2 lead over ULM in the all-time series as the two teams have traded wins in the prior five meetings.
JACKSONVILLE STATE (1-11)
- Jacksonville State has four individuals with a pair of wins in dual action this spring.
- The Gamecocks are coming off a weekend that saw them face four top 11 teams in the Gamecock Grand Slam at South Carolina.
- UNF won the only prior meeting during the 2016 season with a 5-0 shutout of Jacksonville State.
