Ospreys Pick Up Win Over Mercer

ATLANTA- The North Florida beach volleyball team picked up a 4-1 victory over Mercer in the Diggin' Duals at Georgia State before the hosts - ranked No. 9 - defeated the Ospreys to conclude action on Friday.

BEACH BULLETS
- Casey Justice and Carolyn Cain, paired at the No. 5 position, picked up a straight set win over Mercer to get the Ospreys on the board before Mercer tied the match at one with a win at the No. 4.
- Playing at the No. 2 position for the first time this season, junior Brittany Pase and freshman Callie Workman pushed UNF out to a 2-1 lead as they grabbed a three-set comeback win.
- Taryn Griffey and Chaney Howard clinched with a three-set winner in the No. 3 spot. With the win, Howard moved into sole possession of sixth place in school history with 44 wins.
- Senior Carina Hoff and junior Courtney Miller picked up a two-set winner to finish off the win. Miller moved into a tie for fourth in program history with her 48th career win.
- UNF has now won each of its last three meetings against Mercer and taken 14 of 16 overall meetings.
- In the second match of the day, the Panthers picked up straight set wins in each position to win on their home court.
