NASHVILLEÂ -- North Florida track standout Eden Meyer will close out her regular season indoor season by participating in the highly competitive 5000m event at Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge on Friday night.
Meyer, the UNF school record holder in the event at 16:32, is running her first 5000m this season. There will be two flights of the event on Friday with Meyer scheduled to race in the opening flight at 7:45 p.m. (CT)
Following the Music City Challenge, Meyer will join the rest of her Osprey teammates in competing at the ASUNÂ Indoor Championships next weekend (Feb. 16-17) in Lynchburg, Va.
Thoughts from Coach Pigg:
"The Vanderbilt meet is a great opportunity for Eden in the 5000. There aren't many races where a pack will be running at an NCAA qualifier pace. Her training has been very consistent with the focus being on the 10k outdoor, but she is ready to run a nice race this weekend."Â
