Eden Meyer Finishes 3rd at Vanderbilt Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE -- North Florida senior distance runner Eden Meyer ran a personal best and UNF Indoor school record on Friday night en route to finishing third in the 5000m at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge.
Meyer, a native of Jacksonville, ran with the lead pack throughout the race and posted a time of 16:23.66. Her time bested her previous school record time of 16:32. Meyer's time was the fastest in the ASUN this season by over a minute and ranks Top 25 nationally.
"Eden ran a very good race," said head coach Jeff Pigg. "She went out hard and maintained a torrid pace. It was nine second lifetime best. She is in the best shape of her life and really focused on the 10k outdoors. This is a good indicator that we are on the right track for more great races."
Meyer now turns her attention along with her teammates to the ASUNÂ Indoor Championship next weekend in Lynchburg, Va. (Feb. 16-17)
