Women's Tennis Heads to South Carolina for Two Matches

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The North Florida women's tennis team continues spring play on the road as it competes against No. 11 South Carolina and Charleston Southern on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both matches are at South Carolina's Tennis Center.

- The Ospreys snapped their three-match losing streak this weekend after picking up wins against ULM and Troy. Â
- Senior Luise Intert and junior Rafaela Gomez played in the No.1 doubles position against ULM and clinched the match for the Ospreys with a 6-4 win. The pair moves to 5-0 in doubles competition.
- Freshman Eva Nyikos battled from a set down to win her match against ULM. Nyikos also clinched the match for UNF against Troy, winning her final set 6-4.

- Sophomore Silvia Chinellato teams up with freshman Megan Davies in doubles competition. The doubles duo are No. 40 in the ITA rankings and currently post a 0-1 doubles mark.

- The Buccaneers are coming off a 7-0 win against South Carolina State this past weekend.
- Senior Sophie Cloessner earned a spot on the Big South First Team All-Conference singles last season and finished with a 17-2 record. Cloessner currently has a 2-1 singles mark.
- Junior Kimberley Koerner posted the longest winning streak for the Big South conference with 13 wins up until her first loss in April 2017. Koerner now moves forward in the spring campaign with a 2-2 singles record.
