North Florida looks to get its first win against the Gators, falling in the previous seven meetings. Each meeting has featured Florida ranked inside the top 20.
It marks the first ranked opponent the Ospreys have faced since last April when they played the same Florida team who beat them 5-1.
Junior Navia Penrod led the team last week with 10 hits, including a double, while scoring three runs and four RBI. Penrod's hits put her eighth in the nation after the opening weekend.
Classmate Dominica Cocuzza started strong last weekend with six hits, including four doubles and three RBI. Cocuzza's third in the country with her four doubles thus far.
Junior transfer Sydney Matzko had three complete games with a conference-leading 22 strikeouts on the weekend
The Ospreys lead the conference in doubles (7) and are third in hits (33), while sitting second in stolen bases with 10.

OPPONENT NOTES

The Gators are currently ranked No. 2 in the latest polls
Amanda Lorenz leads the team with .500 average with three doubles and five RBI.
Jordan Matthews paces Florida with two home runs and 10 RBIs.
On the rubber, a trio of Gators pitchers has not allowed an earned run over 17.0 IP with 18 strikeouts.
As a team, the Gators hit .310 last weekend, while their pitching staff allowed only three earned runs in 34.0 innings.

LOOKING AHEAD
After the opening weekend, North Florida comes back home to host the UNF Invite beginning on Friday, Feb. 16. UNF takes on Providence at 4:30 p.m. for the home opener before playing South Dakota State at 7 p.m. All games will be played at Atlantic Coast High School due to construction at the UNF Softball Complex.
