GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 2 Florida's Kelly Barnhill tossed a no-hitter as North Florida softball fell to the Gators, 9-0 in five on Wednesday evening at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

Barnhill fanned 12 strikeouts and just missed a perfect game as Taylor Scott was hit-by-pitch in the fifth inning.
Back-to-back walks in the first put runners in scoring distance and a single up the middle allowed the first run to score. With two left on, Morgan Blourne got out of the jam with a foul out.
The Gators scored in the third when a hit ricocheted off of Blourne to Kayla McGory, but McGory's throw to first sailed low and allowed the run to cross.
Florida scored seven runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth to grab the win.
Scott was the lone Osprey to reach base.

North Florida comes back to open in Jacksonville for the Courtyard Marriott UNF Invite, scheduled at Atlantic Coast High School. UNF faces off with UT-Arlington, Providence, South Dakota State and Canisius. The Ospreys host Providence at 4:30 p.m. before taking on the Jackrabbits at 7 p.m.
