Men's Tennis Wraps Up FGCU Invite, Gator Tournament

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis wrapped up the final day of the FGCU Invite and the Gator Ranked +1 Tournament on Sunday.

At the FGCU Invite, Till Von Winning and Nilo Duarte grabbed wins against opponents from FGCU. Von Winning took down Felipe Ramirez, 7-5, 6-2, while Duarte downed Oliver Landert in three, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2).

Von Winning then paired with Sahil Deshmukh to take down Lander and Felipe Escobar, 6-4. Duarte and Alberto De Meo were on the other side of a 6-4 decision in the doubles matches.

Seniors Lasse Muscheites and Jefta Kecic continued their work in the Gator Ranked +1 Tournament in singles play. Both fell to their opponents in the final match of the weekend. Muscheites lost to Florida's Chase Perez-Blanco, 6-4, 7-5. Kecic dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Louisville's Nico Rouanet.

The pair is back in action at the ITA All-American Championships at the Tulsa University beginning on Friday, Sept. 29, while the other four will take part in the Bedford Cup after a week break. The Cup begins on Friday, Oct. 6.
