JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Recent graduate Quetzali Vazquez is staying with the Ospreys as she moves on to become the North Florida women's tennis assistant coach as announced by head coach Mariana Cobra on Thursday.
"We are fortunate to have Q join our staff as a coach," said Cobra. "She accomplished amazing things as a player at UNF and her leadership will continue to contribute to the UNF program. Someone with her character is a great example for our returning and incoming athletes and we look forward to having her on staff."
A three-time ASUN All-Conference selection, Vazquez finishes her career helping the Ospreys to three straight conference tournaments and NCAA appearances.
"I am excited and happy about this opportunity to coach the team that I have played for the past four years. I have had a great career and a good time at UNF and that is the reason I want to continue my career here," said Vazquez. "After being coached by Mariana, I know that she is a coach and person I want to work with. Our values and goals for the team are the same and I know we will accomplish great and big things for UNF tennis."
This season, Vazquez earned ASUN All-Tournament honors after grabbing wins in both the semifinal and final matches. In 2016, the Mexico City, native garnered first-team honors as she was 6-0 in ASUN play in singles action, while posting a 4-0 mark in doubles.
