The Short Story:Â The North Florida Track & Field women's team boasted several strong showings including a few personal records on Friday in the Tom Jones Memorial Meet in Gainesville, Fla.

THE FINISH LINE
- Junior Hallie Grimes continued her consistent performance in her comeback from an injury earlier this season, narrowly missing a PR in the 400m with a time of 55.19, just .02 off her personal best. Grimes also made her debut in the 200m finishing with a time of 25.11
- Louisa Washburn (1:04) and Elizabeth Cunningham (1:05) both tallied PR times in the 400m hurdles
- Vanessa Philbert collected a Top 10 finish in the 800m with a time of 2:12Â

ON THE FIELD
- Women's high jumper Alyssa Young posted a runner-up finish following a jump of 1.70m (5-07.00)
- Washburn finished 4th in the pole vault after recording a PR mark of 3.60m (11-09.75)

North Florida wraps up preparation for the upcoming ASUN Championships with an appearance at the FSU Twilight next Friday (May 5) in Tallahassee.

"We took a limited number of athletes to today's meet but saw some really solid performances. It was a great meet and it means a lot to me for our team to participate in the event because I had the chance to work with Tom Jones for five years at Florida and he was a truly great person. I thought Louisa Washburn had a very solid showing in the pole vault. Alyssa Young was again very good and consistent in the high jump. It was nice to see Hallie Grimes run at a pace that continues to lead the ASUN. Overall, it was just great day." -- Head coach Jeff Pigg
