
Swimming Completes Fall Schedule in Florida Tech Invite

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida swim team travels to Melbourne, Fla. to compete in the Florida Tech Invitational starting on Friday. The meet is a three day modified championship event with prelims starting Friday and finals every evening.

Prelims: 10:00 AM (Friday-Sunday)
Finals: 6:00 PM (Sunday 4:30 PM)
Friday: 200 Freestyle relay*, 500 Freestyle, 200 IM, 50 Freestyle, 400 Medley relay*
Saturday: 200 Medley relay*, 400 IM, 100 Butterfly, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke, 800 free relay*
Sunday: 1650 Freestyle**, 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 400 Free Relay*
* Â Â Â All relays are timed final events and will be swam in the finals session.
* * Timed final event with the fastest seeded heat of each gender swam in the finals session. Any other heats will swim fast to slow, alternating women then men, immediately following the preliminary heats of the 200 butterfly.
About the Ospreys
UNF (0-8) fell in a quad meet to Florida State, Florida Southern and West Florida on Nov. 4 in Tallahassee, Fla. Sydney Groth took first in the 100 butterfly (58.33) and third in the 200 butterfly (2:05.93), while the 200 freestyle relay team placed third (1:40.07). The Ospreys had 12 top five finishes in the meet.

Freshman PhenomÂ
Groth has paced the Ospreys with three first place finishes, one second and one third place swim so far this season. Her 200 butterfly (2:05.93) swim ranks eighth all-time in North Florida history.
