
@OspreyMGolf Climb Four Spots on Moving Day at #NCAAGolf Tucson Regional

MARANA, Ariz. -- The No. 36-ranked North Florida men's golf team climbed into fourth place Tuesday after blistering the course for the day's low round of 5-under 283 in the NCAA Tucson Regional at The Gallery Golf Club of Dove Mountain.
The Ospreys, who opened the day in eighth place, maded the largest jump on moving day in the NCAA postseason event. Senior Taylor Hancock and freshman Philip Knowles led the charge for UNF as the duo both carded rounds of 3-under 69. The score marked a 13-shot improvement for Knowles and featured three straight birdies to start the day and included six total birdies. Meanwhile, Hancock trimmed eight strokes off his opening round performance and notched a team-best eight birdies on the day after opening with a triple-bogey on his first hole.

As a team, UNF boasts four players ranked in the Top 25 led by freshman Andrew Alligood in a tie for 10th at 143, following his round of even-par 72 on day two. Hancock is tied for 23rd at 146 along with sophomore teammate Dillon Woods and freshman Travis Trace. Woods started his day birdie-eagle-birdie and finished with a 1-over 73 while Trace posted a 74 (+2). Knowles rounds out the Osprey lineup in 44th with a 36-hole total of 151.
"We got off to a great start today," said head coach Scott Schroeder. "We had a few struggles during the middle of the round but had a pretty solid finish. Philip and Taylor both did great jobs of bouncing back and playing well. Tomorrow's final round is what the guys have worked for all year. They have prepared for success all year and now we just need to go out and compete."

No. 1 ranked Stanford continues to lead the team competition at 558 and currently owns a 15-shot advantage on No. 24 Oregon in second place at 573. No. 37 UAB is third at 574 with North Florida two shots behind them and No. 13 California sitting in fifth at 580. The top five ranked squads after Wednesday's final round advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
UNF is seeking its fifth trip to the NCAA Championship round and fourth under Schroeder. The Ospreys last advanced to the championship round in 2013.
North Florida closes out play at the Tucson Regional beginning at 10:20 a.m. (ET) from Hole 1 on Wednesday. UNF will play alongside Cal and Wake Forest, who is currently listed sixth in the standings.
