
Ospreys on Road to Xavier on Tuesday

CINCINNATI - North Florida women's basketball plays its third game in six games as it travels north to play BIG EAST opponent Xavier on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Cintas Center.
#FlyHigh NOTES
- Today is the first meeting between Xavier and North Florida. UNF has only played one other team in the BIG EAST when it faced off with Villanova in 2006.
- North Florida is off to its best start in Division I. The last time the Ospreys opened the year with three victories was in 2004.
- Redshirt junior Tesh Hanson earned back-to-back ASUN Newcomer of the Week awards and was selected as the league's Player of the Week after averaging 17.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in the Ospreys 2-1 week.Â
- Junior Sierra Shepherd dished out a team-high seven helpers in the victory against the Warriors to help UNF reach 25 assists for the first time since 2013.

- Raeshaun Gaffney leads the team with 14 ppg, while Marquia Turner and Kindell Fincher are adding 10.0 each.
- Off the glass, Maddison Blackwell is pulling down 10 boards a game, while also tossing in eight points a game.
- Defensively, Leah Schaefer is the team's inside threat as she owns a team-high seven blocks.
- As a team, the Musketeers are shooting 38.5 percent from the field and 33 percent from long range.
- A big difference maker for Xavier has been at the line as they have taken three times the amount of freebies as its opponents.
LONG RANGE STREAKING
The Ospreys have made at least one 3-pointer in 36 consecutive games dating back to 2/25/15 when FGCU held them without a longball (0-8).
CRASH THE GLASS
UNF's 58 boards against Webber is fourth best in program history. Every one who saw time had at least two rebounds on the day including three with seven.
LOOKING AHEAD
Continues its schedule at a neutral site, playing South Alabama and Nicholls State at Jacksonville University's Swisher Gymnasium.
