
Alligood Paces Men's Golf in Opening Round of Tavistock Collegiate

WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Playing against some of the nation's top collegiate squads, the No. 74-ranked North Florida men's golf team carded a 2-under 286 Sunday in opening round play of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational at Isleworth Country Club.
Sophomore Andrew Alligood led the way for the Ospreys in round one, posting six birdies en route to a season-best 4-under 68. Alligood's performance placed him tied for second in medalist play.
Senior Osten Waite shot a round of even-par 72 playing on his home course, highlighted by four birdies and an eagle. Sophomores Philip Knowles and Travis Trace along with junior Dillon Woods each fired rounds of 1-over 73 to round out the UNF lineup for the event.

No. 7-ranked Florida and No. 31 Purdue share the lead in the team standings following first day scores of 5-under 283. No. 3 Vanderbilt is tied with the Ospreys, while No. 36 Arizona State and No. 79 Augusta ended the day tied for fifth at even-par 288.
Tournament action continues with second round play Monday on the par 72, 7,544-yard layout of Isleworth. North Florida is slated to begin play at 9:40 a.m. alongside co-leaders Florida and Purdue. Live scoring results are available online at Golfstat.com.
