JACKSONVILLE -- The North Florida sand volleyball team wraps up their Atlantic Sun Conference schedule on Wednesday with a pair of dual matches at 2 and 4 p.m. against crosstown rival Jacksonville at Dolphin Beach.
The Ospreys (8-8, 3-3 ASun) took the weekend off from competition after dropping a pair of hard fought matches at league leading Stetson last Wednesday. UNF and JU (7-11, 3-3) enter the River City Rumble meeting with not only a pair of barrel points on the line but also battling for seeding in the upcoming conference tournament. The Ospreys and Dolphins are currently tied for third in the standings just behind Mercer, who finished their league schedule with a 4-4 mark.
"Our squad is extremely excited to get back on the sand after taking a week off," said head coach Steve Loeswick. "It is always a competitive match when we face our rivals and Wednesday's match looks to be more of the same. With this being our only matches in Jacksonville, we are looking forward to the opportunity to play in front of friends and family. We are focused on finishing the regular season strong as we begin to get prepared for the conference tournament next weekend."
UNF is led by the senior tandem of Cameron McGuire and Cari Whitmire, who own an 8-8 record as the No. 1 pair.

After battling JU, North Florida closes out their regular season play this weekend in Siesta Key, Fla., with a dual match against Tulane on Friday followed by the annual flighted pairs tournament at Fiesta on Siesta.
