ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – During the second day of competition at the 2015 UNF Sand Volleyball Invitational Presented by BEACH 105.5 FM, University of North Florida sand volleyball earned another split. The Ospreys stumbled in the day's first match, falling 5-0 to Georgia State. However, UNF edged out College of Charleston 3-2 to conclude play at the tournament.

UNF had a tough time on all five courts against Georgia State. The Ospreys' No. 3 pair of Tanner Garbutt and Julie Trembley had the closest match, coming up just short against Katelyn Rawls and Nina Interwies 21-19, 21-18.

On the No. 1 court, Jansen Button and Sara Olivova defeated Cari Whitmire and Cameron McGuire 21-11, 21-17. Jess Kinlaw and Tessa Alyman could not overcome Milani Pickering and Magdalena Dostalova's 21-16, 21-10 win at No 2. The No. 4 duo of Kimberly Ferguson and Ambre Desaulnay dropped a 21-10, 21-12 match to Natalie Wilson and Delaney Rohan. On the No. 5 court, Jessica Fourspring and Alexis Townsend defeated Ebony Gunn and Emily Devanzo 21-15, 21-12.

In UNF's second match of the day, the Ospreys prevailed in a close match with College of Charleston. The Ospreys claimed two of the three matches that went into three sets. The No. 1 pair of McGuire and Whitmire hung on for a 13-21, 21-16, 15-11 win over Melissa Morello and Catey Warren. Trembley and Garbutt fought for an 11-21, 22-20, 15-12 victory against Bailey Humes and Grace Rebarchak on the No. 3 court. UNF also got a two-set victory from the No. 4 pair of Ferguson and Delsaunay, who downed Britney Vallez and MacKenzie Cooler 21-15, 21-18.

College of Charleston got points at the No. 2 and No. 5 spots. Liz Theesfeld and Maddie Hills edged out Alyman and Kinlaw 12-21, 27-25, 15-11 on the No. 2 court. Krissy Mummey and Megan Quigley held on for a 21-18, 21-19 win over Haley Harrison and Gunn at No. 5.

UNF returns to action on Wednesday with two matches. The Ospreys play at New Orleans at and then face Louisiana-Monroe in a neutral-site match.
