GREENSBORO, N.C. – The North Florida women's swim team will continue its Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association schedule on Saturday with a tri-meet with North Carolina A&T and UNC Asheville at noon.
Saturday's meet will be the first of the New Year for the Ospreys and first since a grueling training trip in South Florida that included matchups against Florida Gulf Coast and FIU. Saturday's competition will be the final tri-meet of the dual meet season for North Florida.
What Coach Coffey is Saying:
"This is a good opportunity for our team to go out and compete against conference opponents. It's been a few weeks since we had a meet and we are ready to go. From now until the conference championships, every time we can get up and race, prepares for the end of the season. It should be a very good meet and I am looking forward to the racing.
Swimmer to Watch:
Amy Taylor – Junior – Plant City, Fla.
Taylor swam the 14th fastest time in the CCSA this season in the 200 freestyle against FGCU. Her time of 1:54.44 topped all Osprey swimmers this season. She is also listed in the league's top 24 in six different events, the 200, 500, 1000, 1650 freestyles and the 50, 200 butterflies.
What's on Deck:
The Ospreys will compete in the final dual meet of the season on January 24th when they travel north to take on Georgia Southern. It will be the final tune up before the CCSA Championships Feb. 18-21.
