
@OspreySWIM Notches two wins in CCSA Tri-Meet

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The North Florida swimming team earned their first wins of the season Saturday against UNC-Asheville and North Carolina A&T in CCSA Tri-Meet action.

UNF defeated UNC-Asheville 143-117 and North Carolina A&T by a score of 203-46.

"It was a great meet today, it really came down to the last few events," said head coach Ian Coffey, who earned his first two wins of his career at UNF. "Everyone played a role in the win and our seniors were great today, they had some really big swims."

The Ospreys started the meet off by taking the 200 Medley Relay. The team of sophomore Angel Morrison, senior Natalie McCallum, senior Lissa Janowicz and senior Rebeca Bernard finished with a time of 1:54.17.

Junior Amy Taylor won three individual events in the meet, taking the 200 fly with a season-best time of 2:08.26, the 500 free (5:10.02) and 1000 free with a time of 10:43.50.

McCallum took the 100 breast with a time of 1:11.04, while Janowicz won the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.56.

In the 100 free, the Ospreys took the top three spots, with Rebeca Bernard taking first (54.50), senior Maria Bernard finishing second (54.83) and freshman Chase Walker finishing third (55.20)

The Ospreys closed the meet with a win in the 200 free relay. The "A" team of Walker, M. Bernard, freshman Taylor Schmidinger and R. Bernard finished with a time of 1:41.43.
UNF travels to Georgia Southern in two weeks for their final dual-meet of the season before the CCSA Conference Championships.
