JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida softball hosts its second Atlantic Sun Conference three-game series this weekend when USC Upstate visits the UNF Softball Complex Saturday and Sunday.

UNF comes off a doubleheader split with Bowling Green on Tuesday, scoring all of its runs late in both games of the twinbill. The Ospreys notched a 4-0 win in Game One with all of their runs coming in the sixth inning. In Game Two, Bowling Green escaped with a 2-1 win as UNF's only run came in the seventh.

UNF leads the Atlantic Sun in sacrifice hits and has the conference's top four sacrifice bunters. Katie Mandigo leads conference with five sacrifice bunts, while Ashley Holton, Abby Tewey and Kelly Wilson each have four.

USC Upstate wraps up a six-game road swing to the Sunshine State with this weekend's series. The Spartans dropped two of their three games at Stetson earlier this week, but they are one of two teams with a league-best 4-2 mark in the Atlantic Sun. USC Upstate, who are receiving votes in the both the USA Today/NFCA Coaches and ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 polls, is the Atlantic Sun's leader in team batting (.332), team pitching (1.24 ERA) and team fielding (.978). Shellie Robinson is hitting .405 and has 34 hits, 29 RBI, 10 home runs and seven doubles. Robinson is one of two players hitting over .400. Meanwhile, in the circle, all three Spartan pitchers have under a 1.60 ERA with Lexi Shubert registering a team-best 1.03 ERA.

The all-time series between UNF and USC Upstate is tied at 17-17. The Spartans won the last game 9-2 on May 10, 2013 in an elimination game at the Atlantic Sun Tournament.

This weekend's series begins with a doubleheader at 1 p.m., on Saturday and concludes with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission to all UNF home softball games is free.
