Sand Volleyball Visits UAB

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The North Florida Sand Volleyball team takes a break from Atlantic Sun Conference play with a pair of road matches Saturday (4 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m.) against UAB.
The Ospreys (10-1) have won nine matches in a row heading into their dual match against the Blazers (8-5). UNF is coming off a two-match sweep of ASun rival Stetson on Wednesday.
Several UNF pairs have enjoyed success on the sand this season led by the duo of Britt Claessens/Julie Trembley, who have yet to lose a match (13-0) or even drop a set playing at the No. 4 and 5 positions. The Osprey's top tandem of Anna Budinska/Dagnija Medina (8-4), the 2012 ASun Pair of the Year, have found their form recently owning a seven match win streak while No. 3 duo Emily Strack/Anna Wagner (10-2) have won seven of their last eight matches.
Following this weekend's matches in Birmingham, North Florida closes out conference play Wednesday at crosstown rival Jacksonville. The Ospreys are undefeated in league play and could claim sole possession of their second consecutive ASun title with a win in one of their two matches with the Dolphins.
