JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The North Florida basketball team rings in the New Year on Wednesday night by hosting preseason Atlantic Sun Conference favorite Mercer at 7 p.m. in UNF Arena.
The Ospreys (7-7) continue their current home stand against the Bears (10-4) with both teams having earning impressive wins in their A-Sun debuts on Monday night. UNF handed Kennesaw State an 85-60 defeat while Mercer dominated Jacksonville, 86-49.
Senior Travis Wallace led the way for the Ospreys against KSU finishing with a season best 26-point performance while fellow senior Charles McRoy added 14 points a team-leading seven rebounds. The 25-point victory marked UNF's largest win in Atlantic Sun play. The win also extended the Osprey's current home win streak to five games.
Mercer is riding a current five game win streak and will be playing their third road game in their last four outings. Langston Hall leads the Bears in scoring at 15.9 points per game.
Wednesday's contest will mark the 17th all-time meeting between UNF and MU with the Bears owning a 13-3 lead in the series including wins in the last two contests. Mercer handed the Ospreys a 64-44 loss in their last matchup.

Single game men's and doubleheader ticket prices are $12 Reserved (Sec. 5-14), $10 Adults, $8 (Youth 17-under, Senior Citizens 55+, Active Military, UNF Faculty/Staff), UNF students with valid Osprey1 card and children under 2 are free.
