
#WGolf Makes Return to LPGA Invitational

DAYTONA, Fla. -- The North Florida women's golf team concludes a busy week of competition at the LPGA Xavier Invitational beginning Saturday at the LPGA International Golf Course.
The Ospreys, who opened the week posting a 14th-place finish at the Starmount Fall Classic in Greensboro, N.C., make a return appearance at the Xavier Invitational after earning a tie for fifth in last year's event. It was UNF's best team finish in their inaugural season.
Sophomore Tess Huber, who posted a Top 10 showing at last year's tournament, leads the North Florida lineup this weekend. Huber was the team's top performer at the Starmount finishing tied for 13th and leads the squad with a 76.33 stroke average so far this season.
Joining Huber on the travel team will be fellow sophomores Emelie Alpe, Kelly Aylwin, Belinda George and freshman Lauren Coe.
The Xavier Invitational is a three day, 54-hole event featuring a field of 18 teams. Joining the Ospreys and host team Xavier will be Bethune-Cookman, Creighton, Daytona State, FAU, FGCU, Illinois State, McNeese State, Mercer, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Samford, Stetson, South Dakota and South Dakota State.
Saturday's opening round begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. UNF will be paired with North Dakota State, McNeese State and Creighton for the first 18 holes of play on the par 72, 6,178-yard layout.
