
Women's Golf Maintains Third Spot at Eat-A-Peach

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The University of North Florida women's golf team remained in third-place at the Eat-A-Peach Collegiate after posting a second round 301 on Sunday.
The Ospreys own a 36-hole total of 604, after trimming a pair of shots off their opening round performance. Freshman Mary Rodgers fired her second consecutive one-over 73 to lead the UNF squad.
Rodgers is in fourth at 146 in the medalist competition. Fellow freshman Tess Huber is tied for fifth at 147 after carding a 75 (+3) on day two while Julia McQuilken improved by seven strokes, finishing with a 74 (+2) and moving into a tie for 15th at 155.
Freshman Kelly Aylwin and junior Kelly Miller are tied for 22nd following their second straight scores of 79. The UNF duo holds a tournament total of 158 heading into final round play.
Mercer, the tournament host, continues to lead the team competition holding a one-stroke advantage on Charleston Southern, 591 to 592. Stetson is currently fourth at 615 and Seminole State is fifth at 620.
Tournament action at the Eat-A-Peach concludes Monday at the par 72, 6,082-yard Pine Lakes Golf Club, the course which will also host the 2013 Atlantic Sun Championship in April.
