
Sand Volleyball Faces Rival Jacksonville in Rematch

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida sand volleyball team heads across town for a rematch Friday at 3 p.m. against rival Jacksonville at the Dolphin Beach Volleyball Complex.
UNF is 4-2 in dual matches and riding a current two-match win streak while JU is 1-2 so far this year. The Ospreys posted a 4-1 victory over the Dolphins in the pairs first meeting of the year on Mar. 9. That matched marked the program debuts for both squads.
Each sand dual competition consists of five matches between pairs of players. The winning team must win three matches in a best-of-five format. The separate matches are conducted as best-of-three set competitions, with rally scoring to 21 in the first two sets and to 15 in the third. Pairs must win by at least two points in all cases.
Following Friday's contest, North Florida closes its inaugural season of sand volleyball Apr. 20-22 at the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament hosted by JU at the Dolphin Beach Volleyball Complex.
