JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the fifth year, the University of North Florida women's basketball team took some time out of their spring season to help the Beaches Habitat for Humanity, participating in a home-build on Saturday, Apr. 14.
“Each year, our team participates with Habitat in order to help with their mission of providing affordable housing to families in need,” said head coach Mary Tappmeyer. “It is vitally important that our team continues to give back to the Jacksonville community and support our local families.”
Beaches Habitat for Humanity is just one of more than 1,700 affiliates of Habitat For Humanity. During this year's project, most of the Ospreys' work was spent hurricane-proofing walls and putting in firewalls in the roof between two duplex units.
