JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida men's tennis closes out a seven-match homestand and its out-of-conference schedule on Wednesday when the Ospreys welcome Elon to the UNF Tennis Complex for a 1 p.m. match.
UNF will attempt to bounce back from a 4-3 loss to ETSU on Saturday. The Ospreys are 8-2 on their home courts and are 5-1 during this homestand, which included 4-3 thrillers over two nationally-ranked opponents. Moritz Buerchner and Leonardo Nahar each bring a six-match winning streak in singles play into Wednesday's match. All of Buerchner's singles wins have been at the No. 1 slot, while three of Nahar's last six victories have gone into three sets.
Elon concludes a three-match road swing on Wednesday and the Phoenix are coming off a 6-1 win at Georgia Southern on Monday. The Phoenix have been solid at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for much of the season, owning 11-4 and 12-3 records at those spots, respectively. Cameron Silverman has been Elon's No. 1 player for the entire season and carries an eight-matching winning streak into Wednesday. Stefan Fortmann is 11-3 on the season at No. 2 doubles and has won nine of his last 10 matches.
