The SCAD Invite marks the second invitational the Ospreys have competed in this season. UNF had a solid showing in the All-Florida Invitational (Sept. 28-30) in Gainesville, Fla. The Ospreys took sixth place in the event which featured many of the best college swimming and diving teams in the state.
Last time out, North Florida dropped a road dual meet to FIU in Miami. During the meet, the Ospreys posted several good swims.
Freshman Amy Taylor notched the fastest time of the 2012-13 season in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:29.75. Sophomore Lissa Janowicz posted a season-best time of 2:09.16 in the 200 butterfly. In the meet with FIU, Janowicz also recorded individual bests for the season in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.
Sophomore Kristina Alexiou earned individual best times of the season in the 100 freestyle (1:00.21) and the 200 freestyle (2:03.61), while freshman Hannah Brown (2:48.87) and senior Sara Evans (2:25.89) each notched their best times in the 200 breaststroke against the Panthers. Freshmen Janie Kennedy and Olivia Langford each posted a pair of season-best performances. Following the meet against FIU, senior Julia Moomaw was named Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Diver of the Week. Moomaw paced all Osprey divers with a second place finish in the 1-meter diving competition at the FIU Dual Meet. Her score of 237.82 to lead all Ospreys and was the seniors highest mark of the young season. The Orlando native also took second place and was the Ospreys' top finisher in the 3-meter competition with a season-best score of 244.35.
