GAME ONE
North Florida dropped a heartbreaker after rallying for three unanswered runs, including one in the bottom of the seventh inning, to force extra innings, but Campbell scored one run in the eighth to win game one, 4-3.
Campbell opened the scoring in the top of the fourth inning with back-to-back homeruns, including a two-run shot over the left centerfield wall, to take a 3-0 lead over the Ospreys.
North Florida tried to answer in the bottom of the fourth with runners on first and second with two outs. Junior Alyson Bailey hit a single through the middle but freshman Lauren Pollack was thrown out on the tag at home while attempting to score.
The Ospreys put runners on first and second again in the fifth with one out, but the lead runner was putout on a fielder's choice after the next at-bat. With two outs and runners on first and second, freshman Mariah Reynolds legged out her team-leading 11th double of the season, which brought in both runs. The score would remain 3-2 through five innings.
In the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs and a runner on third, sophomore Jackie Reese dropped down a bunt with two strikes, catching the defense off guard as the run scored and Reese reached safely.
The Camels broke the tie in the top of the eighth with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to left field, with the runner just beating out the throw, sliding under the tag, at home. The lead would holdup as Campbell won 4-3.
Freshman Cortney Radke (18-17) was tagged with the loss after working an eight-inning complete game, allowing four runs on seven hits, while striking out nine batters. Campbell's Katie Woodcock (10-1) picked up the win while working eight innings as well, allowing eight hits and fanning nine.
GAME TWO
In game two, North Florida won a back-and-forth scoring battle over Campbell, 7-6, eventually holding off a rally in the seventh inning from the Camels to stop its five-game skid.
Campbell jumped on the board early in the top of the first inning, plating two runs in the opening frame to take a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the first inning, the Ospreys had runners in scoring position on second and third with two outs when senior Caroline Torre crushed a single up the middle to score both runners, tying the game at 2-2 through one inning.
The Camels added a run in the second to go up 3-2, but not for long as junior Kaley Brosky crushed her first homerun – a three-run deep ball – to right centerfield to catapult North Florida atop Campbell 5-3 after two innings.
Both teams plated two runs a piece in the fifth inning to make the score 7-5, and Campbell added a homerun in the seventh, but the Ospreys would hold to win 7-6.
Freshman Cortney Radke (19-17) picked up the win in relief, hurling 6.1 innings in which she allowed four runs on 11 hits, while striking out nine batters and walking just two. The Camels' Brittany Arnn (5-7) was tagged with loss after working a 4.2 innings in relief, allowing two runs on two hits while walking two and fanning six.
