
Women’s Tennis Welcomes Penn on Wednesday Afternoon

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team will conclude its three match home stand on Wednesday, March 9 when it welcomes Penn to the UNF Tennis Complex for a 2 p.m. match.
UNF (4-2) is coming off a 6-1 win over Charlotte. The Ospreys swept the doubles matches and picked up wins in five of the six singles matches with juniors Aline Berkenbrock and Danielle Day, senior Victoria Krook, sophomore Melanie Aguirre and freshman Simona Weymar securing points for UNF.
Berkenbrock improved to 2-0 on the season at the No. 1 while Day's record moved to 5-1 after playing primarily at the No. 1 early in the season while Berkenbrock was sidelined with injury. Weymar is 5-1 on the season.
Penn (5-5) fell to Binghamton, 5-2 in its last outing. The Quakers picked up points at the No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches as Connie Hsu and Jaime Yapp-Shing secured wins, respectively. Hsu is currently the No. 12 player in the country in the most recent ITA singles standings.
Following Wednesday's match, UNF will take to the road for a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference matches beginning with USC Upstate on Friday, March 11. The Ospreys will face Campbell on Saturday, March 12.
