GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida swimming and diving team finished the second day of competition in the Florida Invitational with a another solid performance at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center Pool in Gainesville, Fla.
The Ospreys finished the day behind meet host Florida, Florida State, Florida Gulf Coast, Miami, Florida Atlantic and FIU. North Florida finished ahead of Florida Southern and Nova Southeastern.
In the 200-yard medley relay, UNF's team of sophomore Katie England, freshman Bridget Woods, freshman Lissa Janowicz and freshman Natalie McCallum recorded the best time of the night for the Ospreys with a time of 1:52.71. Four spots back were the team of senior Gala Poon, sophomore Sara Evans and freshmen Maria and Rebeca Bernard.
McCallum and Evans finished 1-2 for the Ospreys in the 400 individual medley. Kemp also posted the best finish of the day for North Florida in the 200 freestyle. Woods was the top finisher of the day for the Ospreys in the 100 breaststroke.
The Bernard twins, Kemp and McCallum all teamed up for the top finish of the day in the 800 freestyle relay for UNF. Janowicz, freshman Kristina Alexiou, Evans and Woods also competed in the event.
In the 3-meter diving, Julia Moomaw posted a score of 208.15 to post the top mark for the Ospreys.
