Men’s Cross Country Set for Season Opener at Jacksonville

The coaching staff will use this meet to get a feel for which athletes seem ready to step up this season and be able to contribute.
“I'm not sure exactly who will run as we are still sorting through a few eligibility issues and minor injuries that should be cleared up by next meet,” head men's cross country coach Mark VanAlstyne said. “Regardless, we are approaching it as less of a race and more of a trial run for races later this season. Our top runners will actually do a fairly strenuous run as part of their warm-up for this race and will go to the line a bit tired. Most importantly, we want to come through healthy and ready to continue training toward what will hopefully be our first A-Sun Championship.”
