
UNF Women’s Tennis Travels to KSU and Mercer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team is set to travel to Georgia for a pair of Atlantic Sun matches over the weekend. UNF will face Kennesaw State on Friday, March 19 at 10 a.m. before traveling to Mercer for a 10 a.m. match on Saturday, March 20.
The Ospreys (12-1, 4-0 A-Sun) have shutout their opponents, 7-0 in their last four matches. In their last outing the Ospreys defeated Samford, picking up wins in all six doubles and winning two of the three doubles matches to secure the point.
Sophomore Aline Berkenbrock and junior Lauren Holton are undefeated on the season. Berkenbrock is 13-0 at the No. 1 and Holton is 11-0, playing in both the No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Senior Raquel Castro is 10-2 at the No. 2 while sophomore transfer Danielle Day has tallied an 11-1 record, playing primarily at No. 3 and junior Victoria Krook is 12-1, playing primarily at No. 4.
KSU (7-8, 0-4 A-Sun) was picked to finish sixth in the 2010 Atlantic Sun Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Owls return first team all-conference honoree, Vera Shkundina. KSU fell to Troy, 5-2 in its last outing.
In the A-Sun preseason poll, Mercer (4-4, 0-3 A-Sun) was picked to finish ninth. The Bears picked up a 6-1 win over Presbyterian in their last outing.
Following the weekend, UNF will remain on the road for its next contest. The Ospreys will travel to Orlando, Fla. for a match against Central Florida on Wednesday, March 24 at 4 p.m.
