
UNF Women’s Basketball Hits the Road for a Pair of Contests in Nashville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's basketball team will travel to Nashville, Tenn. for a pair of Atlantic Sun contests. The Ospreys will face Lipscomb on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. EST in Allen Arena followed by Belmont on Monday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. EST at the Curb Event Center.

UNF (6-15, 3-9 A-Sun) is led by sophomore guard Brittany Kirkland with 14.4 points per game while handing out 3.81 assists per game. Junior guard Juliemay Syquio is adding 8.4 points and 3.62 assists per game while freshman forward Jadhken Kerr is notching 7.9 points per game. Senior forward Arlande Cherizol is pulling down a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game.
The Ospreys are coming off a 65-59 road loss to USC Upstate. Sophomore guard Kim Baker led UNF with a career-high 16 points while freshman forward Larkira Jones pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds.
Lipscomb (4-19, 2-11 A-Sun) is led by Jenna Bartsokas with 12.1 points per game while Valerie Brownson is adding 7.3 points per game. Brittany Duerk is pulling down a team leading 5.9 rebounds per game.
The Bison fell to Campbell, 60-58 in their last outing. Bronson led with 13 points and seven rebounds. Hannah Phillips also added 13 points in the game and Anna Bowers notched 10 points.
UNF holds the 7-1 all-time advantage over Lipscomb including a 75-64 win earlier this season at UNF Arena. Kirkland had 23 points for the Ospreys while Cherizol pulled down 17 rebounds. Syquio and Kerr added 15 and 10 points, respectively.
Belmont (11-10, 6-7 A-Sun) is led by Amber Rockwell and Haley Nelson who are both averaging 13.1 points per game. Nelson is also pulling down a team-best 10.3 rebounds per game.
In their last outing the Bruins fell to ETSU, 87-65. Rockwell had 16 points in the game and Nelson grabbed 12 boards.
The Bruins hold the 5-3 all-time series lead over the Ospreys including a 55-51 win earlier in the season at UNF Arena. Kirkland had 19 points in the game and Cherizol added 11 points. Syquio pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
Following the Nashville road swing, the Ospreys will return to UNF Arena to host Stetson on Thursday, Feb. 11 followed by Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday, Feb. 13.
