Men’s Cross Country Set for FSU Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's cross country team resumes competition tomorrow as it faces two of the top teams in the nation at the FSU Invitational on Friday, Oct. 7, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.

A total of nine teams are entered in the event with the men's university race featuring two teams ranked in the top 30 nationally. No. 15 Florida State and No. 30 Florida, also No. 1 and 3 in the South Region, respectively, headline the event and should push the men's squad in the 8,000 meter race slated to begin at 6:45 p.m. ET.

Also competing are Tampa, Stephen F. Austin, Troy, Fort Valley State, Florida Track Club and Edward Waters.

North Florida will be looking for another strong performance from senior Will Pearce and junior Mike Strasser, who led the Ospreys to a seventh place team finish at the Mountain Dew Invitational two weeks ago.

Following Friday's meet, the team will have a weekend off to continue its training before heading to South Carolina on Oct. 16 for the USC Upstate Invitational in Spartanburg on the same course that the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships will be contested on this year.
